Thanks to IO-Link, the condition of the received signal can be retrieved from the sensor in different quality levels. This information can be used as a pre-failure warning. Consequently, photoelectric sensors can solve measurement tasks even in dusty environments, such as wood processing.
Additionally, IO-Link enables quick and error-free realignment of the sensing range according to the product in process. The corresponding limits are saved in the control, thus any errors during product changes are eliminated. The average value that can be optionally activated enables a higher resolution and a more stable signal quality especially with a rough object surface. As a result, IO-Link generates a real added value when applied with photelectric sensors and these ensure an improved process reliability as well as increased productivity.
The FADK 14 achieves a resolution of up to 0.1 mm in a measuring range of 50 to 400 mm and its measurement is to a large extent independent of the material or color of the object.
