Capacitive sensors can detect practically everything.

They can detect metallic, non-metallic, transparent, opaque, liquid and solid, conductive and non-conductive substances reliably and contactlessly. They are thus suitable for detecting objects of different colors, shapes and materials, or also for detecting bulk materials.

Our capacitive "all-rounders" are available in a large number of different designs and versions, and can also be implemented in very flat and space-saving designs. They complement other Baumer sensor technologies perfectly, and thus offer suitable solutions for many different industrial applications.

The ability of the measuring field to penetrate non-conductive materials is particularly advantageous for measuring fill levels. Unlike detection principles requiring contact with the media, capacitive sensors can be installed outside the tank wall to detect a fill level inside the tank.
