The first time this year, the rowing competition in the German city of Krefeld was joined by three teams of Baumer hhs. One male, female and mixed rowing team stood out by performance right from the start. Though they weren’t in a position to hang on to the end they rejoiced the common fun. The day was perfectly planned. The teams had set up a pavilion with tables and benches to cater for refreshment. Everybody pitched in to help and needless to say that it was a question of honor! Quickly a Baumer hhs fan block came together for cheering the teams, enjoying a strengthening meal in the cool shade with lively and relaxed discussions on which competitors would be most dangerous and what the Baumer hhs teams were doing. There was much to joke about, since aside all ambitions there was the one or other mishap – with “expert comments” such as: "Hey, why are you rowing in the air?" In the semi-final, the Xboot rowers were struggling with the oars. Instead of a uniform rhythm there was a whirling muddle with one rower going overboard. The ladies boat presented unwanted turns and a zig zag course. It didn’t matter at all – taking part was everything and it wouldn’t have taken much to reach a step of the podium. In the end, it was all about fun and everybody was sure: "Next time we will be here again and rock – oops, row - the thing."
