The new EAL580 series sets new benchmarks in the field of absolute encoders.
The Ethernet encoders of the EAL580 series by the encoder expert Baumer set new benchmarks in the field of absolute encoders. Besides a strong focus on extremely compact and cost-efficient design, state-of-the art communication technologies take center stage in the new encoder series. Furthermore, all-optical single and multiturn position feedback by OptoTurn technology which has been proving itself in the field over and over again ensures utmost precision and maximum immunity against magnetic fields.

As the Ethernet encoder with the smallest installation depth in the 58mm class, the compact design  not only makes it particularly cost-effective, it also offers maximum space for your construction - especially where space is limited. The EAL580 does not require angled connectors which allows you space-saving equipment design and in series production will save you the additional costs of angled compared to straight connectors.

The OptoTurn EAL580 is the only compact Ethernet encoder with a continuous hollow shaft and with a clamping ring on the A or B side. This allows optimum integration in your drive train and saves you time-consuming additional constructions.
EAL580 with Profinet interface is first to launch. All other Ethernet interfaces in the compact design are on the verge of implementation. Utilizing cutting-edge communication technologies as for example Profinet-supported Media Redundancy Protocol (MRP), the new compact encoder series will significantly contribute towards maximum machine and system uptime.

The new absolute EAL580 encoders with Profinet interface are the first on the market to support the OPC UA communication standard. This platform-independent and scalable approach features an open architecture for future-oriented applications and ensures safe, reliable and vendor-neutral data communication among most varied systems.
