The Baumer LX VisualApplets cameras with integrated image preprocessing were honored with the highest award at this year‘s „Vision Systems Design Innovators Awards Program“: the Platinum-level award. Thanks to their innovative technology approach and the added user value provided by enhanced productivity, the esteemed expert jury of system integrators and end-users considered the cameras as one of the top innovations 2016 in the image processing industry.

With LX VisualApplets cameras, even non-expert users without profound FPGA knowledge are able to realize individual tasks in image processing quickly and flexibly in the camera’s FPGA using the graphical programming environment VisualApplets by Silicon Software – without need for expensive and complex VHDL programming. In favor of this, customers benefit from expedited processes in development and maximum know-how protection. At the same time, the volume of data for transmission is reduced so that the PC-based image processing system does not have to perform algorithms requiring considerable processor power. This will increase throughput, simplify system design and lower system cost.

The new LX VisualApplets cameras integrate global shutter CMOS sensors by CMOSIS and a GigE Vision compliant interface. This ensures high sensitivity and excellent image quality coupled with quick and easy system integration. The cameras are available with 4, 12 and 20 megapixel resolutions and allow image acquisition and processing with VisualApplets with up to 74 fps.
