With HIPERFACE DSL®, Baumer presents a purely digital motor feedback protocol that uses a minimum of connection lines between frequency inverter and motor feedback encoder. It saves costs, takes up less space, is easy to implement and at the same time offers maximum investment and machine security.
HIPERFACE DSL® as an open interface – the digital connection to the future
With the opening of the interface, the proven technology is now accessible to all users. This means that all users can now use a secure, real-time-capable and open communication interface for servo drive technology. As an open interface, HIPERFACE DSL® combines all the advantages of a digital real-time interface - established single-cable technology and an enormous increase in efficiency - and is thus an important basis for Industry 4.0 and IIoT.
HIPERFACE DSL® – the most important features
HIPERFACE DSL® corresponds to the well-known RS485 standard with a transmission rate of 9.375 MBaud. The data transmission is synchronous to the controller clock with short cycle times down to 12.1 µs. The cable length between the speed controller and the feedback system can be up to 100 meters. The omission of the motor feedback connector means that there is no design limitation for the motor side (extremely important for small servo motors).
