In assembly processes, parts are identified by means of the code values and texts. This ensures that the processes are carried out correctly and that the traceability of the installed components can be guaranteed at the same time.

Codes and batch numbers in production processes are often used for quality control or traceability (track-and-trace). On printed circuit boards, they are usually very small and are applied directly, e.g. using a laser marking process. The IDC series reads codes with a module size of up to 0.03 mm (1D) or 0.07 mm (2D) quickly and reliably.

The compact IDC can also be integrated where installation space is limited, as is often the case in applications on AGVs or AMRs, for example. This makes it easy here to ensure that the right container is unloaded at the right place, for example. Here, too, the data from the codes can be used for quality control.
