High-speed image processing

Thanks to the integrated JPEG image compression and 10 GigE interface, the VLXT.I.JP cameras save you bandwidth, CPU load, and storage capacity. In this way, high-speed applications benefit from a simple system configuration and low integration costs. The interface, which is compatible with GigE Vision, allows the easy, cost-effective use of high-resolution images at high speed and without time restrictions, for example 500 fps at Full HD or more than 1500 fps with SVGA resolution. This makes the industrial cameras the optimum choice for capturing long image sequences in which original images can be compressed, transferred, and stored.

The compression rate, which can be individually configured in the range from 1:10 to 1:20, allows the precise adjustment of the image to the respective application requirements. The image compression in the FPGA of the camera relieves the PC-based image processing system of computing-intensive image compression algorithms. This allows several cameras to be controlled simultaneously from one PC via a switch.

Equipped with the latest Sony Pregius CMOS sensors, the industrial cameras provide a very good image quality with a great dynamic range and low noise for stable and reliable image evaluation. Powerful functions such as sensor Multi ROI, shading correction, and IEEE 1588 allow an increase in the frame rate and relief of the data transmission, the correction of lens and lighting artifacts, as well as precise time synchronization in multi-camera systems. Illumination can be directly controlled without external controllers thanks to four opto-decoupled power outputs with pulse width modulation and an output performance of up to 120 W (max. 48 V / 2.5 A). The liquid lens support especially benefits applications in which the distance between the object and the camera frequently changes.
