Your benefits
  • Compact machine design
    • On-Axis encoders operate on axial sensing, which makes them ideal for applications where space around the shaft is limited
  • Reliable long-term operation even under extreme conditions
    • Robust magnetic sensing fully free from wear
    • Resistant to dirt, vibration and shock
    • Immune to bearing loads
  • Immune to shaft currents
    • Particularly in rotary encoders installed at powerful electric drives, ball bearings may be damaged by shaft currents
    • The sensor head being decoupled from shaft will solve the problem
  • Long-term high IP protection
    • The bearingless design allows for high and yet cost-efficient IP protection
    • Even at high speed the encoder is protected against water and dust ingress
    • Improved robustness by electronics being decoupled from moving parts
  • Designed for mobile automation
    • High EMC robustness thanks to E1-compliant design
    • Wire cross-section of 0.5 mm2 for optional pre-assembly of automotive connectors (DEUTSCH, etc.)

Applications

Technological highlights

Magnetic sensing requires no bearings between sensor head and material measure (here a center magnet). This way they can be positioned separated from each other. This allows for rather high mounting tolerances and increased flexibility in design and mounting. As there is no need for bearings, there is no conventional wear and tear either. This way the encoders are immune to dust, dirt, textile fibers, shaft currents or bearing loads and robust against vibration and shock.
