The sensor specialist Baumer maintains a close exchange with universities and research institutes. This also includes special events for students. Baumer recently welcomed electrical engineering students from the ZHAW to the Careers Day in Frauenfeld to give them a detailed insight into everyday engineering life. In an intensive afternoon, Baumer experts shed light on the technologies behind various sensor types, the interfaces in everyday working life and the production processes.
After an introduction to the process from product idea to market launch by product management, three engineering teams provided practical insights into pressure, force and strain sensors, inductive and ultrasonic sensors and optical sensors.
One highlight was the tour through the production facility, where the students were able to see how the products progress from development to production. Finally, at the drinks reception in the new Innovation Center, the students had the opportunity to ask specific questions about internship opportunities, thesis projects and career paths. A goodie bag with Baumer gifts rounded off the successful day.
Baumer wishes the students all the best for their professional future and looks forward to their next visit! But now it's time for a well-deserved summer vacation!
