Container exchange in the production of fruit yogurt
In the production of fruit yogurt, it is important to completely empty the delivering containers during dosing the fruit concentrate without running the risk of any gas penetrating the system that afterwards has to be exhausted at great expense.
The PAD20 analysis sensor detects air and gas bubbles in the pipe system indicating imminent emptiness of the container and this way defines the best point in time for container exchange. Thanks to the intuitive PC software (Baumer Sensor Suite), the switching thresholds can be individually adjusted to the specific application requirements.

Protection of pumps
Pumps a key component to ensure consistent process flow where fluids are involved. To ensure a smooth process run the pumps must be prevented from running dry and any process cavitation must be identified, as both can lead to damage or failure.
To avoid such issues, PAD20 operating on the capacitive measuring principle and integrating smart functions will detect even slightest inclusions of air and gas. The sensor outputs a signal immediately when exceeding the individually defined limits. This can be used for downstream process control entailing for example immediate installation switch off, or for output of an alarm message.

Air and gas bubbles can appear at various stages of the manufacturing process, such as during cleaning, filtration, heat treatment, product change or dosing of individual components. Wherever it happens during the production process, air can lead to microbial contamination of the product, have a negative impact on product quality or system efficiency.
PAD20 analysis sensor detects even slightest air inclusions in the process. The smart software and digital sensor interface make it easy to evaluate and transmit the process data to initiate corrective actions.
When starting the product filling process, air from residual rinsing water may be filled as well. To be on the safe side and avoid this issue, the product is discharged into the drain for a defined time. If air gets into the primary packaging, there is a risk that the homogeneous product will separate into its components again during transport and storage. This leads to poor quality and results in recalls.
With the help of air and gas bubble detection, the system can pinpoint the exact time for switching from the drain to the filling line. This ensures the optimal use of resources and minimizes product waste. Even more important, this avoids any unwanted air and gas pockets in the primary packaging.
