Detection reliability by diversified redundant sensors

Detection reliability by diversified redundant sensors

GAM900S utilizes two precise MEMS sensors which reliably detect shocks and vibration, for example at wind turbines:

  • The diversified redundant sensors provide the required system capabilities to identify common cause errors
  • The components are sourced at different manufacturers, come in different designs and in addition utilize different methods of signal processing
Functional safety with certified safety components – Safe software certified according to IEC 61508-3

Safe software certified according to IEC 61508-3

From specification to validation, the safety-rated embedded software (SRESW) implemented in the GAM900S fulfills all requirements of the safety standard IEC 61508-3:

  • Extensive tests and documentation of the safety-related software
  • Guaranteed non-interaction of safety-related software with standard software, for example for CANopen communication
  • Confirmed by TÜV Rheinland: the high requirements for the safety integrity according to SIL2 / PLd are fully met
Safe triggering of the safety function with redundant relays

Safe triggering of the safety function with redundant relays

The GAM900S uses two relays with feedback contact for the feedback to the safety chain when the safety function is triggered:

  • 2-channel relay tripping while the SRESW is cross-checking the status of both relays
  • Activating the outbound test input contributes to identify hidden errors having an effect on both relays, e.g. caused by welded relay contacts
  • Depending on the application and customer, the two relays are internally connected in series or connected in parallel to two separate output connectors
