When I'm in the office, I am frequently in contact with our worldwide sales units, but of course I also have various meetings with the business units. As a Business Development Manager, you are part of Corporate Sales. I represent the sales department and our customers in our internal business units, which as «product owners» supervise our products from development over production to market launch.
.
What qualities do you need to have to be successful in this profession?
High customer orientation, very good technical understanding, enjoyment of dealing with other cultures, the will to offer added value to our sales units and customers and – last but not least – the gift of being able to win over people.
.
What makes your job at Baumer interesting?
The work is intercultural, which I think is great. Dealing with our sales units and their customers makes it varied and, above all, never boring. When someone asks me what I do at Baumer, I often say that I am a «caretaker». I take care of supporting our sales units in the best possible way in order to offer our customers an optimal solution.
.
What was the best learning experience that happened to you during your time at Baumer?
There is no «best» learning experience for me. I have been working for Baumer for almost 30 years and have been able to constantly learn and develop. Baumer has offered me the opportunity to do so and I try to give something back to Baumer through professional work and loyalty.
