The EB360 bearingless encoder merges maximum performance and a compact design for precise angle position and speed feedback - even where it's dusty, dirty or wet.

The ultra-compact multiturn encoder with a mere 22 mm in height is another highlight in the Baumer product portfolio for industrial applications. New, non-contact and fully encapsulated EB360 has been particularly designed for demanding tasks and is wear-free even in harsh environments. That's typical Baumer: The encoder merges minimized design with maximum performance and delivers the angle and speed information with +/- 0.3 precision, even where it is dusty, dirty or wet. The wear-free encoder is ideal for use at texile machines, packaging systems and in medical engineering. The design without any moving parts will spare users from time-consuming maintenance and expensive production downtimes. In this way Baumer is living up to its pio-neering spirit in encoder technology: EB360 is the most compact non-contact multiturn encoder being this pre-cise.

No chance for fibers, dust or fluids

The modular and space-saving design of encoder and rotor simplifies integration in machines and installations. This way, wear-free EB360 opens up new application potentials. Magnetic encoder EB360 owes its high relia-bility to the non-contact sensing principle without moving components. The sensing electronics of EB360 is fully encapsulated to prevent any ingress of liquids, fibers or dust.

Space-saving design at maximum performance

The requirements for the new encoder were ambitious from the start. Product Manager Sebastian Koester: "EB360 was intended to set a new encoder standard in factory automation: the smallest multiturn encoder free from maintenance and wear-free thanks to non-contact sensing." From the developer's point of view, this has been a success. With IP 67 or optional IP69K protection and a housing of just 22 mm in height when installed, the encoder in space-saving design provides maximum freedom in machine design. And what about measuring precision? "Best-in-class in the category of bearingless, magnetic multiturn encoders of this size," says Koester.
