Who will win the Industrie 4.0 Innovation Award? Baumer Sensor Suite among the finalists

Die Baumer Sensor Suite (BSS) has reached the final round of the Industrie 4.0. Innovation Award 2022 held by VDE Verlag. An independent jury has nominated the manufacturer-independent software from Baumer along with nine other innovative products that all contribute significantly to smart manufacturing.

Now it is up to the readers, users and all interested individuals to participate in the online voting to decide which product will win the Innovation Award. This is the link for voting, which is open until October 31, 2022.

More than 1400 users already benefit from the advantages of the BSS software for the evaluation, selection and parameterization of IO-Link devices. Anyone interested in testing BSS prior to voting can download the software free of charge at www.baumer.com/bss and put it to use. Our colleagues will also be glad to answer any inquiries regarding the product and possible upgrades – you can chat with them directly or use the contact form.

The Industrie 4.0. Innovation Award recognizes products and innovations that “provide an advantageous or supportive contribution to Industry 4.0.” An important criterion is for the product to promote integration by supporting manufacturer-independent standards. This is one of the particular advantages of BSS – thanks to its open IO-Link interface it allows the manufacturer-independent use of IO-Link devices. Hence, the user-friendly software is an innovative tool to exploit the full IO-Link device potential for smart manufacturing. BSS is based on future-proof software architecture and utilizes elements of the Microsoft Azure Cloud. Thanks to cloud access, the latest software version and functionalities are made available to users at all times.

The Industrie 4.0 Innovation Award is launched and granted in 2022 for the seventh time as a joint effort by VDE Verlag GmbH, ZVEI, and the Standardization Council Industrie 4.0.
